Credible Witness and the trip to Toronto for the Much Music "Disband" taping

"Disband" is a show where Greig Nori and his crew work with bands to prepare them for judges who decide whether a band should continue and go on to "Stardom" or if they should "Disband" http://www.muchmusic.com/tv/disband/ and is presented by Much Music. They choose 3 of 5 judges to make their decision; Ralph James - President of The Agency Group, Jennifer Hirst - A& R for EMI Music Canada, Colin Lewis - A senior agent at a global talent firm called The Agency Group, JDiggz - Guest judge and Matt Wells - Much VJ

We started the day at 5am on a Sunday morning and got on the bus at 6:00am. The Boy, his friend Nic and I were off with all the other Credible Witness www.myspace.com/crediblewitness supporters to cheer on one of Windsor's favorite bands in a taping at the Much Music studios in Toronto for the show "Disband" . The bus driver was great as he knew where all the "Tim Hortons" coffee shops were along the way and made stops for bathroom breaks (for those of you that don't know "Tim Hortons" is Canada's favorite coffee shop ;) We had a little sputter trouble coming into Toronto but we made it to the studio.

Once at the studio we were treated amazingly, as you can imagine what fourty five 25 and under kids can be like after a 5 hour bus trip. All the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. I have always been a behind the scenes person, encouraging, helping and always learning so it was no surprise that I took the spot behind the camera's and watched what happened behind the scenes. The beautiful Sarah Taylor was the vj host and introduced the band as they sang their magic. We were then asked to leave as the judges made their decision and then were welcomed back in the studio for the outcome. As the judges made their decision everyone listened patiently. Credible Witness played one more song and off we went to enjoy the rest of the day in Toronto. (You really didn't think I would tell you the outcome, did you? You have to watch the show and sit on the edge of your seats like the rest of us ;)

We spent the rest of the day shopping (yeap dropped a couple hundred bucks) and ended the shopping spree with a trip to "Hooters" (which of course was the 15 year old boys choice ;) The servers were awesome and even signed the boys calendar which made them feel extra special. There "hot wings" are something that everyone should try, I know I will be returning on a Monday to enjoy the all you can eat wings :)

5:00 came and back on the bus we all went. There was lot's of singing (as a few found the bar, lol) and new found friends were made. As we sputtered out of Toronto we wondered why the driver had not got the bus checked while he was waiting for us. Now as the bus sputtered, the girls needed the bathroom, the guys were (well you know) and the bus driver refused to stop. Then it happened! The bus died, right on the 401 highway :( Now we have 55 people on this bus and the girls and guys were jumping off to go to the bathroom while we waited for the tow truck. Two tow trucks came, the OPP and we waited on the bus (with no heat) for a replacement bus from a nearby town. By the time the bus finally came it was after 10 and boy did the singing turn to misery. The bus driver stopped at the first Tim Horton's to let everyone off for a bathroom break (whew we needed that) and then we were off to the bus depot for another driver. We ended up back in the city about 1:15am and although I was suppose to work at midnight, I called in for an emergency day.

When we got home, the Boy said "I am so glad we are home". My word of advice for him was "get used to it, that's life on the road, just wait and see ;)

Cheers and Always Inspire ;)
