The HereThere Poetry Contest 2008 is now accepting submissions.
Our 2008 judge is Robert Fanning, Author of American Profit, The Seed Thieves, and Old Bright Wheel.
Prizes
The prize for the winning poem is $75.00 and publication in the September/October online issue of HereThere Magazine. In addition, our editorial staff will write an article on the winning poet (based on an in-person or telephone interview), which will appear in the September/October issue. Two finalists will also have their winning poems featured in the September/October issue. DeadlineAll entry fees and submissions must be submitted by June 30, 2008.
NotificationWinners will be notified via email. All submissions may be read by members of the HereThere Editorial Staff or designated HereThere Contributors, in addition to our judge, Robert Fanning. If you are a close family member or friend of our judge, please do not submit your work at this time, as it will not be considered.
Entry Fee
The entry fee per poem is $5.00, which must be paid via PayPal. (Credit cards accepted.)
Multiple submissions are fine. To specify how many poems you plan to submit, click on the Add to Cart button near the bottom of this page. You will be directed to a PayPal page which contains your shopping cart. You can select the number of poems you wish to submit by changing the number under the Quantity header. Note: After you click on the Proceed to Checkout button, you can either log in to your PayPal account, or click on "Continue" just above the credit card icons near the bottom left of your screen to pay by credit card.
Submission Guidelines
After making your PayPal payment, you will be directed to a page that will invite you to submit your poem or poems via email. All poetry submissions should be sent as attachments in a single Word document. Be sure to include your full name, mailing address, email address and telephone number at the top of each page of your Word document. Your cover letter (and brief bio) should appear in the body of your email. Do not attempt to send submissions via regular, certified, or express mail. All submissions must be made electronically via email.
Poems must not have been previously published to be considered. If you are submitting your poem or poems to other contests simultaneously, that's fine, but please notify us immediately if you are selected as a winner by another publication or organization.You can submit as many poems as you like; however, individual poems should be no more than two pages in length.
Both published and unpublished writers are welcome to submit poems to this contest.
